When I search my main keyword of rent to own homes, Yahoo shows me:

HomeRun Homes Rent to Own Homes, Rent to Own, Lease Option, Lease2Buy.com
Using a process called Rent-to-Own to buy your home today. ... Looking For a Rent To Own Home? ... You treat the rent to own home as if it is yours. ...
www.lease2buy.com - 31k - Cached

This description is from 2003....!

When I plug HomeRun Homes into yahoo, I get:

HomeRun Homes Rent to Own Homes, Rent to Own, Lease Option, Lease2Buy.com
HomeRun Homes is the Premier Website for rent to own homes, rent to own, rent to ... At HomeRun Homes, we offer prospective tenant/buyers a place to find rent to own ...
www.lease2buy.com

The second one is the real/current correct description.

What is going on ?

I think the search engines have some problem with time sensitive information. Sometime they show obsolete information. After all they are search engines, not search humans….

Even human also commit errors. And maybe yahoo have their problems in algo that's why they display the old indexed page.

Me too. Am thinking how valuable are these old sites compared to new ones which are mostly updated?

Yahoo is not updated I guess, based on what you have said. There was a malfunction in the search engine or Yahoo wants you to be specific in your keywords like: rent to own in (location) something like that.

Yahoo might be keeping old information they've indexed from past years and according to your query, the information shown might what Yahoo thinks as the closely relative result.

It has been seen before that sometimes search engines might temporarily use the old archived results and data of the web pages mistakenly and usually this is nothing to worry about because by adding some new links accompanied by fresh content pages, newly cashed results would appear.

That's weird. Yahoo could simply get the description from their archive.
