When it comes to preventing viruses, the best is Bit Defender. try searching on the internet, Bit Defender ranks no.1

Kaspersky is the best IMO, but I have had great luck with Adaware also.

Hello,
There has never been a definitive answer to that question. Unfortunately, too many variables come into play such as user settings, auto-update, how often, on-access, realtime, system resources.used etc. Paid or not, none are 100% no matter how they are configured. Use safe surfing and common sense. I like Avast, malwarebytes and ccleaner as an easy user friendly suite of tools.
