Why do people use Twitter?

Why people use Twitter? What motivates people to use Twitter? Any ideas? It’s about news or comments?

I used twitter for my site really to get traffic. And twitter allows you to tell the world what you doing, to know what others are doing and to comment on what others has to say.

yeah, what's with twitter that makes a lot of people go for it and use it? I heard from somebody that twitter is a modern and high-tech way of stalking..would you agree to that? I don't know. Though i have a twitter account, i rarely open it because i am more into facebook.

Most people use Twitter to get attention of others. To let people know whatever they're doing even if it's totally none of other people's business. They Tweet every single move they make and it's really annoying.

sorry for I might be asking another question... but HOW can twitter help boost traffic to your site? you post a link and that's it? I got an account but so far traffic coming from twitter are a few. I got about 160 followers at the moment. traffic ranges from 3-9 only... what's wrong? any tips?

Twitter is good for traffic especially if you have large follower.
