Reciprocal Links- Question

Hello,

If there is a company that has 4 companies and each company lists their partner sites on the home page of the respective company-- does Google frown upon that link exchange? What can happen to the rankings of that site?

For Example
petfood.com lists: cat.com, dog.com, bird.com

and,
cat.com lists: petfood.com, dog.com and bird.com

and,
bird.com lists: cat.com, petfood.com and dog.com

Will those sites be penalized for this seo effort?

Hi

I don't think that the search engines will take it as a spam and will affect your ranking.

It's totally fine. Sites like that won't be penalized. Google only hates when you link to bad neighborhood.

it doesn't matter as long as they don't spam, duplicate content or do any black hat it's fine.. alot of company do that..

They will only count as 1 reciprical link tho, your better off linking to the other sites off 1 domain with good pr and this will create a one way backink to all the others

That's not illegal in any way. Google doesn't make any prohibition when it comes to linking with sites owned by a single company. What it hates are link farms.

I think it doesn't matter as long as you are in good neighborhood, and you're not tricking search engines.

it obvioulsy won't hurt you as linking to related websites is nothing wrong but since these links are reciprocal their weight will be heavily discounted so their function will mainly be informative to the visitor but no benefit to your SEO efforts

It looks like all the site are related and in the same niche, so u can do that, I guess.

I havent come across any punishment for all the sites that belong to one company that link in this way! it wouldnt be in Googles best intrest!

Hello. As long as all the sites are related and you will not do it excessively, and the sites that you are exchanging links to are trusted sites, therefore it is fine and Google will not penalize your site.
