Keyword Density basically indicates the amount of times that a selected keyword or key phrase appears on a web page or in a article on said page..

Overuse leads to attempting spam search engines or artificially boost your search engine rankings..

Formula:
Keyword density=(% of total word count on the page) * (100)

Accepted standard for keyword density is between 3% and 5%...

The only criterion that consistently draws viewers is good, unique and relevant content. And keyword density is only a part of it.

In my opinion the SEO professionals should be concentrated towards:
* Write something that people want to read.
* Ask other sites to link to it – if the quality is good, the number of links will be higher.
* Make sure those links have specific anchor text – instead of "click here"

Keyword density is just a myth. Quality of content is even more important.

don't get caught up with trying to optimise to specific keyword densities.

Be sensible, make sure the keywords you want to rank for appears in your content, but don't be silly with the amount of times they appear.

Amen to that! Keyword density is a fallacy. Google's algorithm has already changed.

Keyword is not a number's game. It's all about choosing and utilizing the right ones in your metatags and contents. If you're not targeting the right keywords or if they are too competitive, all your linkbuilding efforts would be useless.

Well first of all, I don't think that stuffing keywords on your content is an advantage. If you will read it yourself, that really doesn't sound and look good right?

So my advice is that, write for the visitors and not for search engines. You will know your limitation when you see that the content doesn't sound helpful anymore because of your stuffed keywords.

Well - 3-5% of keyword density is good for you always, you can escape from search engine at this percentage..

# but content is more important than density, I suggest you to write content as you wish then analyze the keyword density
# remember that visitors are more important they all going to give success to you
# writing content by giving more importance to keyword density will results in improper or bad content
# first write content and then analyze it and change keywords if you feel more keyword density but change keywords without spoiling the content

The optimum value for keyword density is 5-7%. If the density of a keyword is too low, the search engine will not pay much attention to it. If the density is too high, the search engine may activate its spam filter. If this happens, the page will be penalized and its position in search listings will be deliberately lowered.
