Ideally, you should write separate contents specifically for article submission. They shouldn't be found in your own site to avoid duplicate content issue.

Its better you read first their rules and regulations before submit your article so that avoid declined your article or banned. Every sites have an different rules.

General advice is to post your articles to as many places as you can. Better to have it in 30 places than 3 places.

you can submit the same article or the single article to as many article directory sites as you can but make sure that the article is submitted only once on one article directory.

You can submit a single article to the multiple articles directories. there is no any issue with the no of sites.
But, if you wish to receive good SEO results, it will be good if you prefer the unique articles submissions. Means, 1 article in a single directory. Good luck!
