I think AOL is going to be a very big player in this area with their huge isp and aim user base. The thing that shocked me is that they are not working with Google on the AOL desktop search application according to the Cnet News article yesterday. Desktop search is where the whole industry is headed in my opinion.

I agree, I think it would be a smart move for AOL to partner with Google in the desktop search area.
