I am looking into getting some SEO done on my site. I have a guy who is suggesting I do this:
The way this would work is when a human visits
http://www.countrywidepromotions.com/index.html with a regular web
browser, they will see the existing content. When a search engine views
this page it will appear differently, and contain links to new search
engine only pages of your website.
As an example, instead of linking to
http://www.countrywidepromotions.co...t/yes/catid/285
the search engine will be shown a link to the more search engine
friendly content at http://www.countrywidepromotions.com/t-shirts.html.
When you search for your t-shirt related keywords on your favorite
search engine, this is the link that will appear and this is the page
you will be sent to when clicking on that link. Since the content of
this page is designed for search engines only, when a human visits this
page it will automatically send them to
http://www.countrywidepromotions.co...t/yes/catid/285
where the human content is.
This is not something that would be counted against you in a search
engine, because the only thing it knows about is the page it is looking
at, and we are limiting what it is seeing. We would do this for every
product you have, and every variation imaginable for keywords
associated with your products in order to get a high ranking with every
product you sell.
so when a person put in Custom T-shirts, the users will click on the link in Google and will come to my homepage. Not because Google put that link there but because of the pages you have created have pushed that person back to my homepage."
the links from the search engine ranking will not necessarily be redirecting back to your main page. The viewer will be redirected to the specific page on your site that contains the item that they were searching for. We could easily send them to the home page, but it would be better for them to see what they are looking for right away, or else they might leave the site.
"is that called cloaking?"
Not exactly. Cloaking is commonly referred to as the masking of URL to hide the fact that it is being created dynamically. We will be doing that, but we will also be offering different content directly to the search engine. This enables you to keep your visually appealing site from being down with too much text all over the place.
Can anyone back this up and let me know if I should do this or not? |

Cloaking is a total no no. It's a black hat SEO tactic. Your site will be penalized for doing that. _________________ Delta-Larm Sheet Metal Fabricating |

As others have said, this is something that is not allowed by search engines and is actually not hard for them to detect. Once they see you are doing this they will penalize you heavily. _________________ boston movers |

Cloaking may help you in short term but it is totally a no-no in case of long term... You can go in for SEO Services India, and get your site optimized ethically.

Hi,
Cloaking is basically come under black hat seo means it is a illegal way for optimizing any website in search engines but many seo's do this for boosting any website ranking in search engines.Actully this method redirect the web pages according to IP address of the user means if the user is normal person than it re direct the web page and show any other website which is not optimized properly whereas if cloaking found the IP is of crawler means crawler viewing the site than it show the web site which is optimized properly means this method give deceive to search engines but never use these type of activities for optimizing your website because google can caught you any time and your site will be banned by google |

Cloaking refers to the practice of presenting different content or URLs to users and search engines. Serving up different results based on user agent may cause your site to be perceived as deceptive and removed from the Google index.
Is that exactly what u are talking about?? |

Never ever engage in cloaking or similar black hat tactics. You will surely get penalized by Google by doing that. _________________ Nonprofit Web Design Pet Beds |
