Hi guys,
SEO newbie here so please be gentle if this is a silly question!!
According to what I've read on various SEO guides, your site keywords should be related, but you shouldn't have too many.
If I want to do a site about a gym (advertising the gym and its services, say it's in California, I'd optimise it for 'California gym' etc) but that gym was also going to have a forum specifically about marathon running, since the gym owner is a competitive marathon runner - I would optimise the forum pages for 'marathon running forum', 'marathon nutrition' etc.
Gyms and marathon running can be related, but is it a mistake trying to have distinct sections on the same site? Would I be better off using a subdomain (i.e. forum.gymwebsite.com) and optimising the pages on that subdomain for the forum-related info?
What if I had articles on marathon running, but also general fitness, sports nutrition, vitamins, minerals - would it hurt my SEO if these distinct article pages had these keywords (since they're not directly related to 'California gym').
Or have I missed the point and need to read more? _________________ Super Green Web Hosting review

I don't see any problem with that. These topics are still related to sports. You will not be penalized for optimizing your site for two different sets of keywords. It's just a matter of creating SEO-friendly pages with good content and building quality backlinks. _________________ Delta-Larm Sheet Metal Fabricating |

Optimizing with the same keyword for two different links will not create you any problem, but if you could plan for any long tail keywords which will cover more than two keywords then it could fetch you more results because you are promoting long tail which has more than two keywords.
Hope you could make use of this small tip. _________________ [URL's removed for spam. Please post only 1 URL per post. -admin] |
