Automatic link exchange software, Good or Bad?

I have been using an automatic link exchange software called
addweb website promotor.Can this hurt my google rankings?
no matter how hard i try i cannot get past the third page for the keyword i want wich is pretty low competition.sites with pr0 and no backlinks are on top of my site

You should be careful to those inbound links. Some links from bad web sites may do harm to your page rank.

If the sofware is not leaving any footprints that can be detected by search engines then it is OK. A footprint can be something like a note or link to the maker of teh software or certain TEXT that is the same on all sites using that software. Even if it has something like that, you may be able to edit the generic content that they provide and put your own unique content.

Addweb has been around for a while, so I would think they get it right, but don;t have experience using it.

I would not recommend doing any automated link exchanges. Many of these systems are on the radar and you have a good chance of getting your site penalized or even banned from the major search engines. The most white hat way to do this the right way is to write up some useful articles and include a few of your links in them and then submit them to http://www.ezinearticles.com and the other major article directories. Your articles will get picked up and you will get some free one way links! This is much safter then going the automated exchange system route. Hope this helps.

i think half manual, half automatic is better
i used www.linkalizer.com but this is not fully automatic, you need to check what is suitable website you need to exchange link with them and then send them request, if they accept then both will complete the exchange.

Manual link exchange is much better than automatic Because you can check the site if it is quality or not.

At my site, you get to pick the websites you want to link with and you can do this with one click. It's best to pick sites which are related to your industry. Believe it or not, Google knows what sites are related to what.

I suggest that you do a manual link exchange than automatic link exchange software. Be careful in using that software because it might hurt your site.

In automatic link exchange you cannot choose the page with high PR,...sometime it is alphabetically arrange..
