I was wondering if what this website is doing is considered to be spam or not. They have a search engine terms page that when you click on one of those search terms, they created a separate page that has that particular search term on the page about five to six times. Is putting a gigantic list of search terms on your site considered spam?

they may not have changed anything source code related for a long time. you used to be able to put more words in the tags than you can now. it looks to me like they are over using the word "CD" and "duplication."
the links you are talking about are anchor text links with their keywords in them. it seems like they are not over using key terms on their actual pages, but this could pose a problem for engines that check to make sure your source code keyword count and on page keyword count matches.
this is better known as keyword stuffing and i think there is much speculation on the subject. some sites can get away with it and rank well (usually older domains large sites), but others are penalized for the same use of keywords.
i would say not to exceed a certain amount for each page depending on what and how many words you use in your meta data and title.
if you are looking for keyword assistance you can pretty much find anything you need here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/
in the keywords discussion forum.
*definately do not borrow ideas for sites in your industry that you believe may be keyword stuffing for results, it might not yield the same for you. _________________ Search Engine Feeds - SEO News & Article Feeds |

I don't see a giganic list of keywords. In their keyword Meta tags, there is 4 lines of keywords, which is probably sligthly too much, but not a major problem, as search engines don't consider Meta Tags a big factor. More important are the site title and content. He has CD Duplication twice in his title, that might effect him negatively, but then again I have seen sites rank well for having keywords twice in their title tag. _________________ Quadra Web Design Los Angeles LA |

Thanks for the insight on this. I appreciate the comments. I personally don't like what this site is trying to do and I think it is very sneaky. Hopefully they don't get away with this type of nonsense. _________________ Web Piston Website Builder |
