How would you identify it?

How could you prevent it?

An invalid click is when you

1. When you click knowingly on Adsense ads on your website or blog
2. When you click on a ad by accident
3. When you use illegal software to click automtically on your ads

All clicks that are done just for the purpose of increasing hits and earning some profit, only are invalid or illegal.

The list is long,

Like clicking your own ads, like google ads.
Asking your friends to click on your ads.
hiring some company to click ...................

You can use awstats to identify where the users came from.from the particular IP address if many users comes means it may be invaid click and automates.so you can block that IP in Filter

Invalid clicks are those that we suspect to be deceptive and malicious as well as those clicks that seem to be invalid for other reasons like accidently double clickinking on an add. There are some ways to detect invalid clicks like looking at duplicate IP adresses, session information of user, network information as well as geo-targeting and information of browser. All these are imporatnat signals to detect invalid clicks.

Very first i would like to tell you that the ppc is when you get paid if the link is clicked by someone.. And if you yourself click that again and again to get paid then that is considered as invalid clicks. And there are some sites which can track from which IP the ad has been clicked and all sought of details. For example google analytics and statcounter.

Invaild clicks are intentionally made clicks on your ad. If you made an accidental click on your publisher ad. Then request your Publisher account admin that those are not invaild clicks say " I made them accidentally". But try don't repeat those accidents, otherwise your account admin/admin robo may suspend your on the spot.
