Google Adwords Madness! Overwhelemed by Promotion Options

I am so over whelmed by all of the pay per click search engines. There is so much information out there. This article tells you to do it this way. This article tells you to do it that way, and everyone thinks they have the answers. I was told to try Google. Every time I start looking at all of their pay per click options, I get frustrated and just turn the computer off. I'm a net vet. I've been online since 1995, so it's not from lack of experience that I am over whelmed. My question here is how do you weed out the right things to do from the wrong things to do. Any unbiased books or articles I am missing out on?

Welcome to the world of search engines! Yes it is true...everybody will tell you one thing and there is so much misinformation out there. It will not be easy for you to weed out the bad stuff. You will have to go through many things on your own and decide what is the best way of doing things by experiments. The truth is what may work for someone may not work for others. If you are not the type to be patient then the net is not for you. Get into real estate and read the book called "How to get rich" by Donald Trump.

I recommend only trying Overture and Google AdWords off the start.

there are tons of tips on how to use them. I would recommend Andrew Goodman's ebook as a good starting place.

First you need to do a lot of research and then jump into the adwords campaign. Orelse you could loose your hard earned money.

I have read and continue to read every book or ebook, or forum post I can read to learn anything I can on how to get better search engine results. After awhile, you start to hear a lot of the same information over and over again. Some of the information is conjecture...some is pretty factual. The thing is you have to keep testing to see what works.

How come some people get listed in Google right away, but can't be found in Yahoo? How come some people get listed in Yahoo right away, but can't be found in Google? Who knows...some of the things we do to make our sites better work in some engines and not in others. The idea is to create the best user experience so when people do find you, they take the time to look around.

I would start with Google AdWords and forget about all other Pay-Per-Click services. Google AdWords is fairly complicated. You either need to hire someone to manage this for you or do it yourself. If you do it yourself, you are better off doing some studying. If you just jump into the AdWords without know how it works and how to save money, you can easily spend a lot of money on a lot of worthless clicks.

Comparing to Google, Yahoo and MSN are not worth the hassle. If you get Google maxed out, you may consider trying Yahoo and MSN. Chances are that if you do it well with Google, you should be fine.

Don't forget trying organic SEO. The pay-per-click is a good short-term solution, but in the long run, SEO pays dividends.
