There are many ways connected as a technique to a social media optimization where word of mouth is created not through friends or family but through the use of networking in social bookmarking, video and photo sharing websites. In a similar way the engagement with blogs achieves the same by sharing content through the use of RSS in the blogosphere and special blog search engines.

Social media optimization should be part of your site promotion techniques. It can reach a wide array of people in throughout the blogosphere. Social bookmarking and networking are some of the popular SMO methods. Posting videos in Youtube can also boost your site traffic.

The concept behind SMO is simple: implement changes to optimize a site so that it is more easily linked to, more highly visible in social media searches on custom search engines (such as Technorati), and more frequently included in relevant posts on blogs, podcasts and vlogs.

I do SMO to boost my site traffic. I find Twitter, Facebook and Myspace very effective in getting targeted traffic all the time.

Social networking like Twitter will be bought by a major internet player and whilst will remain free to use for basic version, a premium service offering will emerge.
Social media is the new thing in the futhure, imho.
I'm open to any different ideas! |
