Great hypothetical question! Of course there would be much I could do myself, but if I did not have time or desire or my work load was too much I would pay for the following in the following order:

$3,000.00 Natural SEO - Including keyword content creation, meta content creation, web site usability and functionality, optimized alt tags, optimized link anchor text, static html pages and some others.

$3,000 Link Campaign - Including reciprocal and non-reciprocal links, directory links, blog or forum creation, articles, tools etc.

$2,000 PPC / CPC Campaign - Including Google Adwords, Yahoo / Overture, possibly MSN adCenter (not available yet) and maybe some low dollar PPC ads from Miva.

$1,000 Off-line Campaign and Marketing - Including radio spots, targeted magazine or news ads, press releases, interviews, ATTENDING CONFERENCES and continuing education.

Hopefully this money would yield a great return quickly so that I could begin again and fill in as many of these strategies as I needed to once I had some time pass to monitor the results. With my new budget earnings I would invest in the current strategies mentioned above even more.

Things I would not spend my $10,000 budget on:

Email Marketing - With spam filters and people so annoyed with spam, today it is harder than ever to make an email marketing campaign work to your benefit. I would not attempt one unless I was a big brand with established products or services. It seems all emails either end up in a spam folder or they stay in an inbox unread, or they are deleted once received.

Mailing Campaign - It is my belief that a mailing campaign is just as worthless as an email marketing campaign unless you are a bigger brand or have established products or services. Junk mail comes to me in bundles, and what doesnt end up on my desk for later review (sometimes 3 months) will end up straight in my garbage for the garbage man to review. So unless your target market is city waste management workers, do not send mail regularly and expect much from it.

T.V. Commercials - Too much money for a long enough spot, take Godaddy for instance, they begun playing commercials on the Super Bowl to increase brand recognition and get more business. They paid the highest dollar amounts for ad spots, and this year will most likely not be buying up ANY ad space. This year prices for T.V. ads (especially the super bowl) are due to be higher than ever before. So high infact, Bob Parsons (CEO GoDaddy) is considering not buying up Super Bowl ad space because of price and the censoring of his ads.

Really interested to see what other people would do with the budget? Maybe you have already spent $10,000 in marketing of your site this year, how would you use it differently? Or maybe you wouldnt change a thing, let us know!

well there are many ways to spend that money.

everything from an incredible site to an affiliate program to print and media marketing.

having been in your shoes and looking back, i'll give you my two cents.

spend the 300 Yahoo and 200 Google for expodited inclusion and a professionally tailored adsense campaign.

Then the Site,

Then maybe an affiliate program, then that's it.

Now everyone will have more to say, but I think that would do it.

Best of Luck to you... Very Happy

That is a tough question. I had an investor give me about 10,000 with access to even more to spend. I had a very hard time. Of course I did PPC but there is only so much you can spend per niche without losing money.
I had a hard time wisely spending the money. Most of the marketing I do takes time not lots of money. I might hire a very talented web guy from scriptlance who was savvy to help me recruit partners, netwiork and develop sites.

Well with that budget I would have bought many text links from authority sites which would give me more traffic.

I would also hired some copywriters to write some good articles for me and distribute them on the internet.
