Click fraud has been increased due to some websites paying the users to just click the ads & earn money for cliking. This causes a loss to the advertiser. This should be stopped quickly else PPC advertising will decrease & many websites which are alive due to PPC will soon get closed.

We experience a much better conversion rate over the weekends and one holidays, when our competitors are not in the office. It can´t be chance!

I saw some software a while back that was basically
a domain ping but was made to crawl your affiliate
links on your site to boost click thru's.

I don't use affiliate links, other than adsence, but
if I did, I'd be pretty pissed off to find others were
making money by cheating whereas I'm hardly making
anything by not cheating.

So isn't there any precautions or the things which can save people from click frauds because it can be really destructive for your business if one of your rivals fully aims to destroy your business.

There are lots major companies in there, who are bidding $10 - $20 per click and if any of their rivals aim to fully destroy them then it can be really destructive for their business!

I will want to know your opinions on this topic.

Google's Chief Financial Officer, George Reyes stated, “Click fraud is the biggest threat to the Internet economy.” He went further, “We are exposed to the risk of fraudulent clicks on our ads. We have regularly paid refunds related to fraudulent clicks and expect to do so in the future.” Overtures Senior Manager of Loss Prevention and Analytics affirmed, “We try to be very liberal in our refunds because a big part of what we do is instill trust in our model.”

So what is click fraud?

Overture defines it as clicks not conducted in “good faith”. Google on the other hand terms it as “malicious” or “artificial” clicks. Another definition could be: The systematic act of stealing money from PPC (Pay Per Click) Internet search engine/marketing campaigns via human or automated means by synthesizing clicks.

It is generally accepted that click fraud claims 30% of PPC advertising expenditure - a figure that is estimated to balloon to more than US$4 billion in 2006. Fraud Bots and well organized teams, amateurs and competitors are more than likely plundering your precious PPC marketing budget right now!

I have been searching for an effective way to get more traffic on my website. I discovered grudd.com they guaranteed 500,000 visitors for only $10.00 a month. I have been a member for 3 months now and I have received a total of 1 or 2 total visits and have paid $30.00 & I was charges twice in the month of August. I tried to cancel my membership the same day I signed up & nobody responded to any of my e-mails. My credit card company is disputing those charges now. DON'T TRY GRUDD.COM.....

whoah, if some people bid 10-20$ per click, that may come REALLY destructive, especially for an internet-based business!

Google seems to have strict rules to control click fraud, but i've heard of massive frauds with adsense too.

I think, there have to be even special agencies or groups of people that may do that as a business.. The only solution is, imo, not to rely on that AD type only. And have full control of your budget..
