Gaggle Develops eDiscovery Archiving Compliance

Bloomginton, Illinois - (Website Hosting Directory) - December 11, 2007 - Gaggle.Net has introduced an archiving solution, designed to comply with the new eDiscovery requirements to satisfy state and federal Open Records Laws.

Gaggle.Net's solution is compatible with most email systems, including MS Exchange, GroupWise, FirstClass, Google Apps, Lotus Notes, PostFix, SendMail, @mail, MiraPoint, and iMail. With the Gaggle.Net email archiving solution, all messages are stored on two enterprise class storage systems in Los Angeles and Chicago. The storage systems are designed to work with multiple drive failures and provide snapshot capability so files cannot be inadvertently or intentionally deleted.

Michael Kessler, Vice President of Gaggle.Net offered, ''As a leader in providing safe student email to districts, it seemed logical for us to develop an efficient, easy to use archiving solution. The use of technology, and particularly email, in school districts is growing exponentially. Because of this tremendous growth, it is essential for school districts to have an effective archiving system in place to comply with the new amendments and protect themselves against legal discovery violations. Mail system snapshots no longer provide adequate protection.''

Recent changes to the eDiscovery Rules have made email archiving a necessity for school districts. According to the new rulings passed by the Supreme Court, school districts are required to archive all electronically stored information, including email, which could be considered evidence in the event of a lawsuit. Under the new rules electronically stored information is subject to legal discovery and failure to produce these documents can put the school district at risk for legal sanctions.

Gaggle.Net's email archiving solution provides essential benefits, such as advanced message searching, disaster recovery and a fully redundant email system. With Gaggle.Net's solution, all archive management is done via the internet, and there is no additional hardware or software to purchase or install.

Founded in 1998, Gaggle.Net is in its ninth year of providing safe, teacher-controlled email to K-12 students across the country and worldwide. Currently, over 14,000 schools are signed up for Gaggle.Net's safe student email system. More then just email, Gaggle.Net has expanded to include student-focused blogs, chat rooms, message boards, digital lockers, and profile pages. All of these features are filtered for inappropriate content and images, and offer full monitoring capabilities to teachers. These tools are located on Gaggle.Net's web-based system so learning and communication can continue anywhere there is an internet connection.
