Since Yahoo is the number one most visited directory/search engine, you
can take advantage of this to increase your traffic and sales by opening
a Yahoo! Store and/or listing your products in the Auctions and
Classifieds sections. While many people may already know about these
services at Yahoo, many others have no idea how beneficial these
services are.
For most shopping related terms, the first search results shown on Yahoo
are links to the Yahoo! Shopping, Auctions and Classifieds sections.

We recently talked to one of our search engine optimization clients who
sells sunglasses online. He operates two websites; a regular website
and a Yahoo! Store website. He told us that they receive over 90% of
their sales through their Yahoo! Store. This claim really surprised us,
since this customer has very good rankings on major search engines for
their regular website, yet they are getting most their sales from their
Yahoo! Store.
Another one of our clients who sells refurbished computers does not even
have a regular website and only operates a Yahoo! Store website. While
we can't tell you who this client is, we can tell you that he is a
university student that is making a very good income doing this part-
time.
We highly recommend starting a Yahoo! Store to those who sell products
online. Yahoo! Store only costs $100/month to start, and they provide
online website building tools allowing virtually anybody to start a
website and sell products online. They even provide an option for a
merchant account and an option to host a domain name, which will point

If you do open a Yahoo! Store, Yahoo will give you a free listing in
their Shopping directory. We recommend choosing your description very

can increase sales and traffic to your site. We recommend posting a few
