TELUS Mobile Search Offered for Free

Washington, D.C. - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - August 22, 2006 - Mobile search solution firm, Medio Systems, along with national telecommunications company, TELUS, have released TELUS Mobile Search, a tool unique in North America designed to simplify made-for-mobile information, powered by Medio Systems.

Brian Lent, President and CEO of Medio Systems, Inc. commented, ''It is extremely gratifying to be recognized by TELUS as having the best, most comprehensive mobile search and merchandising solution. We are excited to enable TELUS subscribers to access all the information they need from their mobile devices. Our research and analysis revealed that a large proportion of search queries take users deep into the content libraries, beyond the top 40 results that are found on almost every other carrier's WAP deck. Trying to find a Led Zeppelin or Frank Sinatra ringtone is virtually impossible when navigating through the dozen or more screens to get there. Medio solves this by making it fast and easy for users to find what they want.''

Available for free to TELUS clients with Internet capable mobile phones, TELUS Mobile Search, is designed to allow users to search and access downloadable music, ringtones, wallpapers and games, flight information, news, sports scores, lottery results, stock quotes, weather, product ratings and price points, and other valuable information.

Robert Blumenthal, Senior Vice-President of Products and Services at TELUS added, ''TELUS is deeply committed to making it simple for our clients to use mobile services - it's part of our Future Friendly brand. With the TELUS Mobile Search, our clients can instantly get the content and information they want without the frustrations of other search solutions that are limited to a single type of content and produce search results that may not be useful for the typical mobile user.''

According to TELUS Mobile Search, it uses advanced recommendation, merchandising and personalization technology to customize search results to a particular subscriber and handset, generating the most complete and accurate results with the highest mobile-device relevancy of any search engine. Searches result in actionable answers, not pages of links. Once the results are returned, users can simply click on the link to go directly to the content. For example, if a user searches for a specific Nelly Furtado ringtone, TELUS Mobile Search will return the available Nelly Furtado ringtones and tracks, sorted by popularity, from every content provider that can be played on that user's handset, and images from her albums. It will also go beyond traditional search engines to present the client with related content such as ringtones from Natasha Bedingfield, an artist with a similar style that may appeal to Furtado fans. While the Medio search solution intelligently searches and recommends related content, it also takes clients directly to the answers they seek in just one click.

Examples include:

-- Clients rushing to catch their Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Toronto can enter the flight number and receive current flight details, including status.
-- Clients can enter a stock symbol and receive a stock quote and links to company press releases and recent news.
-- Clients browsing through a book store or video game store can enter the ISBN product code for a book or a UPC product code for a game, and receive the average user rating and street price for the product in question.
-- Clients can enter a Canada Post tracking number to determine delivery status.

These applications, along with product UPC lookup, city lookup, weather search and many others, are optimized to meet the needs of mobile clients. According to TELUS, it is the first carrier in North America to deliver a mobile search service that addresses the interests and needs of a diverse client base, making this available to 95 per cent of its mobility clients. From a single search box subscribers access content that spans across ringtones and games to stock quotes, package tracking, flights, weather and more.
