Frequently Asked Questions about SEO Services

1). What is search engine optimization?

SEO is the process in which your website undergoes redevelopment to more effectively communicate your keywords to search engines. Optimizing your website enables it to rank higher on major search engines. Search engines rank websites based on two major factors: unique content that contains pertinent keywords, and link popularity - the number of quality incoming links to your website. Other important factors that determine your ranking with search engines are the architecture of the site, the visibility of your content, its underlying code and how natural your site appears to the engines.

2). What is Black Hat and White Hat SEO?

Black Hat SEO refers to SEO technique that are against the Google guidelines. They include spammy page content with repetitive keywords to link building techniques that are spammy such as placing links in public blog comments and forums.

White Hat SEO refers to techniques that comply with the Google guidelines. Keep in mind that Google is against any kind of link building techniques and they want you to acquire links naturally. Hence if you do anything other than onsite SEO, then you are probably not complying with Google guidelines. Therefore, most SEO can be considered Gray Hat, which is somewhere in between Black Hat and White Hat! The trick is to not build the types of links that appear to be artificial. The safest way to build links these days are guest article writing.

3). Do I still need META Tags on my page?

The keyword and description meta tags are recommended. However, Google stopped indexing keywords meta tags and instead it picks up your keywords from your page content.

Most website editors these days allow you to insert meta tags. However, you can also use our Free Meta Tags Generator and copy/paste the code to your HTML source code.

If you have built your site using an online website builder such as WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify or Weebly, you do not need the META Tags generator. Most online website builders will allow you to insert META Tags. Please consult their help section or tech support for details.

4). How can I get my page placed in the top 10 of the search engines?

There are two major ranking factors: 1) Your site content and having keywords in your site content and 2) Link Popularity, meaning the more links there are towards your site from other sites the better you would do.

6). How long will it take for my site to be listed in the search engines?

It typically takes Google 1 day to 1 month to index most websites.
